How to search?
Last updated 7 months ago
LinkedIn’s post search doesn’t behave like Google. Understanding how it treats quotation marks and Boolean operators turns an overwhelming fire‑hose into a targeted stream of leads.
To see what to search, check out our article on it for inspiration.
Quotation Marks
There is currently a problem with searches giving high-volume results when not expected. We are working to get this fixed ASAP.
Boolean Operators
AND returns results that include all keywords.
OR returns results that match at least one keyword.
NOT excludes keywords (e.g., NOT hiring).
Hard limits: max 6 keywords and 5 operators per search.
Tuning Result Volume
Too many irrelevant posts?
Don’t use too generic keywords, or add more specific keywords to your search.
Don’t use quotation marks around your keywords, e.g. recommendations instead of “recommendations”. This gives you an exact keyword match.
Be careful with the OR operator.

Too few relevant results?
Do use quotation marks around your keywords, e.g. ”benchmarking” instead of benchmarking.
